Info on the mushroom brush

Mushrooms should be cleaned before preparation. However, mushrooms should not be washed, as they absorb water. With a mushroom brush, you can easily brush mushrooms while they are dry. The brush with a handle is made of beech wood and has light, soft natural bristles. These bristles are perfectly suited for cleaning mushrooms without damaging them. The brush fits comfortably in the hand thanks to its handle and size of approx. 13 cm.

Antibacterial effect of wood:

As early as 1994, the Food Safety Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin found that wood kills bacteria. They described wood as one of the most hygienic materials of all. This is due to its natural compounds (polyphenols) as well as the hygroscopic (moisture-attracting) properties of wood. This removes the moisture that bacteria need to survive. Bacteria that retreat into the interior of the wooden board can thus not multiply either. They die off. This antibacterial effect remains even with repeated bacterial exposure. These findings are also confirmed by the German Federal Agency for Agriculture and Forestry (BBA) and the German Institute for Food Technology e.V. Source: Bavarian State Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Forestry
